ABA Services

Intensive Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services are implemented to reduce challenging behavior, teach functional skills, and increase independence. Service recommendations are based on a comprehensive intake assessment. ABA services include intensive 1:1 therapy sessions and caregiver training.
(In-Home treatment)
Parent and Caregiver training is designed for parents, families, and relevant caregivers of individuals with developmental disabilities. Group caregiver training sessions, as well as individual family sessions, are offered.

Community Services

Safety-Care® Crisis Management training will be provided to families who are interested in learning how to de-escalate maladaptive behaviors or to respond once maladaptive behaviors begin to occur. This includes strategies to prevent serious maladaptive behaviors, such as aggression, as well as respond to serious maladaptive behaviors, such as blocking aggression or transporting their child to a safe place. Safety-Care® curriculum is taught by a certified instructor. Bi-monthly follow ups are required for families wishing to maintain Safety-Care® certification.
Training package includes 8-hour initial training and two 1-hour in-home follow-up appointments.
DSC provides highly trained staff to provide physical assistance, support and protective supervision to the client in daily routine activities and to prevent injury to themselves and to others while the clients family receives relief from these duties. Staff will ensure that the client is able to participate in daily activities and community activities safely to ensure client protection and promotion of the client’s health and welfare. Activities available during respite include social and leisure opportunities adaptive skill practice, and community involvement and participation all using evidence based strategies.

Consultation is available to community agencies, such as Licensed Staffed Residential Facilities. Consultation will include collaboration regarding behavior treatment plans, IISPs, FA/PBSPs, PCSPs, and staff training for specific individuals, supervision of behavior plan implementation, group training of the major tenants of ABA and behavior reduction as well as skill development, and individual training on treatment plan implementation and strategies for managing group behaviors. Data analysis and treatment plan modification may also be provided.
Contracted ABA services are available to schools and school districts. Services offered include staff training on principles and strategies of ABA as well as direct support with conducting functional behavior assessments, developing and implementing intervention plans, data collection, and data-based decision making.
